The year is 2014 and while social networks, smart phones and even TVs with internet are taking the world by storm, it seems the recruitment world is only just starting to catch up.
The age-old routine of searching newspaper job pages and sending off your carefully crafted CV could soon be a thing of the past as video CVs are catching the attention of recruitment professionals. In this BBC article we meet Graeme Anthony, one job seeker that was creative enough to create his own C.V.I.V (Curricuum Vitae Interactive Video) on YouTube with links to other videos for a more detailed insight into his expertise. As a result, Graeme landed a job at London PR firm, Frank PR, where founder and Chairman Graham Goodkind told the BBC of his amazement that the recruitment process is still where it was “10, 15, or even 20 years ago”.
So is it time we all got rid of our paper CV and upgraded to a modern, personalized video CV like this one?
