We have some great news for you here. You may not have a Harvard Degree, but if you are curious and cunny enough, you still have chances to get a job with a large company, such as Google.
Hiring at Google, it's not all about grades or IQ scores. It's about "talents and curiosity". In an interview with the New York Times , Google's senior vice president of people operations, Laszlo Block revealed that “there are five hiring attributes we have across the company” and what he is looking for from candidates. To resume, if you want to work at Google, you can simply forget what you've learned at school:
1. You don't need to have a high IQ level
2. You don't need to demonstrate traditional leadership skills
3. You don't need to demonstrate how creative and smart you are
4. You don't need to blame others
5. You don't need to be an expert
What Google wants to do is “take somebody who has high cognitive ability, is innately curious, willing to learn and has emergent leadership skills”. Sure, you might mess up now and then but there's “huge value” in those qualities.
