University librarian job description

A university librarian is a highly-knowledgeable professional tasked with the management and organisation of a university's library resources. They are responsible for acquiring, cataloguing, and maintaining library materials, such as books, journals, online databases, and special collections. The role also involves assisting students and staff with research queries, providing informational services, and conducting library inductions and literacy sessions. The university librarian may also be involved in strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development for the library. This role requires a high level of information management skills, excellent communication and customer service abilities, and a strong understanding of modern library technologies.
