Beekeeper job description

A beekeeper, also known as an apiarist, is a professional who manages and cares for colonies of bees, usually in hives. Their duties include raising and breeding bees, monitoring hive health, collecting honey, and often selling honey and other bee products. They play a crucial role in agriculture by ensuring the pollination of plants. Beekeepers are typically outdoor workers who handle physical work and need a high degree of patience and attention to detail. They also must adhere to environmental regulations and often work in harmony with the seasons, as bee colony activities vary throughout the year. Knowledge of bees and their behaviours, as well as the ability to handle them safely, is a key aspect of this profession.
