Job Introduction
We’re looking for a talented Tester to join our mobile team in Salford. Our mobile apps are used by an ever-increasing audience who rely on the BBC to inform, educate and entertain them. BBC Mobile Applications Software Engineering is an integral part of delivering our technical strategy, for a Digital-first BBC, which creates distinctive, world-class content and services.
This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing and ever growing mobile space within the BBC, delivering the BBC’s top priorities to a diverse audience in a competitive space. You’ll learn how to build effective and accessible applications at scale in a collaborative and supportive environment, with plenty of opportunities for learning and development.

* Help identify the root cause of defects using debugging tools and provide feedback to stakeholders.
* Ensure the software delivered is of high quality, fit-for-purpose, meets the requirements and is within the planned timescales.
* Support, implement and help shape the test approach.
* Work closely with all disciplines and stakeholders to support our integrations.
* Champion quality and the continual improvement of approaches and processes, ensuring they adhere to the overall Test Strategy.
* Learn different technologies and acclimatise to them rapidly.

* Experience working in teams with Agile/Scrum/Kanban project management.
* Experience of test and issue management tools (e.g. TestRail, Jira, Quality Centre, QASE).
* Understanding of continuous integration and build systems.
About the BBC
The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants. Priority consideration means for those employees seeking redeployment their application will be considered alongside anyone else at risk of redundancy, prior to any individuals being considered who are not at risk.

Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.
We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief.
