We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Training Manager to join their growing education team at Make UK. We need someone who is pro-active, enthusiastic, a great communicator, who enjoys working with other and can support, lead and inspire the next generation of engineers.
Technically, you will be experienced in mechatronic or tool maintenance engineering and working as an Engineering Training Manager, Team Leader, Process Leader or in a similar maintenance role within a factory/manufacturing/plant setting would be a great fit.
Any experience in training, coaching, mentoring is an advantage, but is not essential for those coming straight from the engineering industry. Any teaching/assessor qualifications can be gained with Make UK.
Key responsibilities
* Manage the achievement of learners to meet the ‘Individual’s Learning Plan’ targets.
* Carry out Health and Safety audits to maintain Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and criteria to ensure the Health and Safety of learners and staff is paramount.
* Complete ILA reviews
* Communicate any performance related concerns of learners to Lead ITM
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with Plant Managers.
* Agree and implement action plans to promote each learner’s personal development to ensure that their behaviours are in line with employer expectations.
* Assess learners progress by various means of assessment and provide progress feedback and progress reports to learners and managers
* Provide learners, colleagues, parents and employers with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on learners’ achievement, progress and areas for development that aids the learner’s progress.
* Develop each individual learner to ensure that they are fully prepared for their job role with regard to technical competence, professionalism and personal development.
* Develop each individual learner to ensure that they are fully prepared for their Endpoint Assessment and that they are fully equipped to meet the demands of the job role required from the employer/standard.
Technical knowledge and experience
* Worked within engineering industry.
* Skills specific Engineering NVQ/DC Level 3, higher or equivalent.
* Assessors award and IQA desirable.
* Time Served apprentice desirable.
