Yeoman Park Academy and Redgate Primary are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Kitchen Manager/Chef to join our dynamic, talented and supportive team working across both our special schools.
In this role you will have the responsibility of planning, preparing and cooking your own menus for two individual sites. You will be responsible for the management of two other members of staff over both academies. This role offersweekday time hours(between 6am and 2pm) with no weekend or evening working. Its alsoterm time only. Flexibility around starts and finish times can be considered and discussed during interview.
Experience of working in a special educational setting is not needed for this role. We are looking for candidates with catering and kitchen manager experience. This role really will have the opportunity to make a difference in an exciting and diverse setting while offering the students the opportunity to help serve food under supervision to further enhance their own life skills

Redgate Primary Academy
Redgate Primary Academy is a SEN school for pupils aged 3-11 years, whom have moderate/severe and complex learning difficulties, predominantly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The academy provides a stimulating, challenging and safe learning environment where individuals are valued and nurtured.

The opportunity
To manage and deliver the provision of catering services for the academy including meals and special functions. The role also includes the supervision of kitchen & catering staff that encourages healthy eating options.
The successful candidate will, with support from the Trust Catering Manager:
* Plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by the academy.
* The successful candidate will oversee all areas of catering arrangements for special functions such as Christmas Fayres, small buffets and theme days which take place in the academyover the academic year
* Provide general supervision of the kitchen, including hygiene, training staff and all day-to-day operations
* Manage the organisation of food supply across the two sites
* To help create two separate menus for two individual sites
Essential
* Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene or above
* Successful background in catering.
* Management and development of a team
* Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity. We will provide training for your safeguarding duties if you have not worked within education before.
Desirable
* You may need to travel across the Trust to support catering teams if/when required and occasional evenings for example such as the Christmas Fayre, in accordance with the needs of the role. Your travel expenses will be paid.
* Provision of Dysphagia food and working with special dietary requirements. Again, please dont worry if this isnt something you have done before, full training can be provided.
