Job Description PSM Recruitment is looking for an experienced Sous Chef, supporting the Head Chef to prepare and cook food, to ensure the delivery of an excellent customer service. This position is for our client based in Canterbury and is a Contract role until August 2025, offering full time hours, 37 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: As directed by the Head Chef, to cook and prepare all menu items to ensure a high standard of food offer. To supervise kitchen staff as required ensuring that all staff work in a safe and legal way. To deputise for the Head Chef as required. To work with other departments in providing effective service delivery in order to deliver an excellent standard of customer service To control wastage of stock to ensure maximum efficiency at all times and to support the delivery of agreed margins To respond to standard enquiries in a timely manner, escalating non-standard queries and complaints, to ensure high levels of customer service for both internal and external customers. Key Skills & Qualifications: Good knowledge of cooking techniques and style. Good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in particular food hygiene and food allergies. NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent Level 2 in Food Safety. Hours: 37 per week, typically 5 days per week, between 11.00am and 7.30pm Salary: £15.58 ph or £30,051.49 FTE This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established and professional company.
