Responsibilities in your new role as Head Chef
As the Head Chef, you will lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll have the creative freedom to design and implement seasonal menus that not only resonate with the venue's vision but also delight the customers. You will maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, while overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations during events, weddings, and regular service. Your expertise will guide kitchen budgets, manage food costs, and minimise waste to achieve financial targets. You will foster a positive and inclusive kitchen environment, nurturing the growth and development of junior team members and strengthening relationships with local suppliers to ensure every dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients available.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record as a Head Chef, especially in a high-volume, 4-star, or event-driven environment. You should possess a passion for culinary excellence, showcasing creativity and a keen eye for local produce while developing seasonal menus. Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire your team are essential, along with solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards. Experience with budgeting, cost control, and inventory management will also be integral to this role.
