We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team, who's excited about developing their expertise and skills in the field of data engineering.
With a mix of home working and team collaboration in our vibrant, open plan office in Bristol, on any given day you could be doing one or all of these things:
1. Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives and interpret them into data models.
2. Identify opportunities for data acquisition, data usage and insight generation.
3. Create data reporting that enables data driven decision making.
4. Build data systems and pipelines using development tools.
5. Ensure that data solutions uphold data governance and/or data compliance frameworks.
6. Provide second line technical support for existing data platforms.
All our teams work to exacting standards, and so we're looking for a talented data engineer who has:
1. Extensive experience in database querying, analysis, and interrogation tools.
2. Proven track record in the architecture, construction, testing, and maintenance of entire data platforms.
3. Skilled in transforming business challenges into data models utilizing SQL Server.
4. Familiarity with ETL tools and concepts, including Azure Data Factory (plus experience supporting legacy SSIS tooling).
5. Working knowledge and experience with Data Warehousing and Lakehouse principles.
6. Proficient with workflow tools like Azure Logic Apps.
7. Strong capabilities in data visualization with tools such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
8. Experience in designing and implementing data solutions on the Azure platform.
9. Extensive background in CI/CD practices.
10. Demonstrated experience working with AI technologies, including the usage of Python and Azure Machine Learning.
11. Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.
12. Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with strong presentation capabilities.
13. Experience in the software engineering and development lifecycle.
