Lead the design and development of engaging, blended digital learning experiences that meet the evolving needs of learners. Managing a small team of Learning Designers, you will oversee the production of diverse learning content, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support the ongoing development of the Learning Experience Platform (LXP).
What will you be doing?
* Lead and mentor a team of Learning Designers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and high-quality learning design.
* Lead the creation of innovative and engaging blended learning solutions, including digital learning experiences that meet the needs of a diverse workforce.
* Support the implementation and ongoing development of the Learning Experience Platform (LXP), ensuring the integration of cutting-edge learning technologies.
* Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure learning resources are aligned with educational and organizational goals.
* Ensure that both written and visual content produced by the team meets quality standards and is consistent across all digital platforms.
* Use data, learner feedback, and analytics to evaluate the success of digital learning resources and implement improvements to optimise learner outcomes.
* Continuously update your knowledge of the latest developments in digital learning, design principles, and learning trends to continually innovate and improve learning strategies.
* Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
* Complete a DBS check as part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football.
What are we looking for?
Essential for the role:
Knowledge:
* Degree in a relevant subject area (e.g., instructional design, education, or digital learning) or equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Experience:
* Proven experience in creating blended learning solutions, with a track record of applying learning theories to meet learner needs.
* Leadership and management experience in overseeing a small team of learning designers.
* Project management experience, including managing outsourced projects with external suppliers and agencies.
* Experience in collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to develop educational content.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in using an LXP and other social learning platforms.
* Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects effectively.
* Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate instructional strategies and content ideas.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform content improvements and instructional design.
Beneficial to have:
Knowledge:
* Knowledge of modern coach education principles.
* Knowledge of football, from grassroots to elite level, and how these principles apply to workforce development.
Experience:
* Experience working within a sporting organisation/association or in an education organization.
* Proofreading experience, ensuring accuracy and quality of written content.
Technical Skills:
* Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Adapt.
* Experience using xAPI to track and analyse learner data.
* Experience with YouTube or video-based learning management.

Our Organisation
The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team.
