Hawkwood is currently partnering with a mission-driven start-up to hire a Head of Talent! Our client specialises in approving software and AI devices within the medical industry.
Having recently secured their Series A, our client is looking for a Head of Talent to oversee all aspects of Talent, Culture, and Engagement. This crucial role will ensure the business achieves its growth milestones, enabling patients to safely access the latest life-changing technology .
With 35 employees and plans to grow to 50 by next summer, this is an exciting period of change. We’re seeking a Head of Talent who thrives in a high-performance environment and sees Talent as more than just hitting hiring milestones.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to shape the People & Talent strategy and lead key projects including onboarding, culture development, and workforce planning. Reporting directly to the C-Suite, you’ll define both the Talent and People agenda.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Talent who enjoys being hands-on and is eager to broaden their skillset in the People & Culture space.
The Role:
Talent Acquisition:
* Own the end-to-end hiring process across the business, including Senior Leadership roles.
* Develop talent pipelines through sourcing, community engagement, and referral generation.
* Find and engage active and passive candidates through various channels.
* Lead in delivering the best recruitment process and candidate experience.
* Partner with senior stakeholders to demonstrate the value of effective Talent and People practices.
* Build and maintain an exceptional employer brand to enhance the company’s reputation in the market.
People:
* Lead the ongoing development and refinement of the business EVP.
* Design an onboarding program that ensures new joiners are set up for success.
* Embed company values into hiring, performance management, and employee development.
* Lead workforce planning, aligning hiring priorities with business needs.
* Facilitate discussions with business leaders to proactively manage talent gaps and forecast future needs.
You will be a good fit if you have:
* A strong track record of hiring top talent across multiple levels.
* Experience in shaping and fostering a high-performance, feedback-driven culture.
* A data-driven approach to capacity planning and workload management.
* Comfort in flexing between a strategic People and Talent role and a hands-on role across recruitment, people projects, and BAU.
* Experience working within a start-up or VC-backed technology company.
