We’re offering an exciting opportunity where you’ll play a key part in supporting our Driver Training team. Our new Driver Training Manager will have experience of managing a large supervisory team, potentially within the driving or transport sector within an instructor or Examiner capacity.
You’ll be leading all day-to-day aspects of driver training operations; training new drivers and enhancing the driving skills of existing drivers effectively and to a high standard, to ensure efficient and effective management of the Training Centres within agreed budgetary and performance standards.
What you’ll do:
1. Be responsible for the leadership, motivation, performance measurement, training and development and wellbeing of the driver training team (including Driving Examiners, Driver Trainers, Temporary Trainers, Type Trainers, Classroom Trainers and other support staff).
2. Plan and manage the cost-effective day to day training operations in accordance with Company policies in such a way as to obtain maximum utilisation of the labour and resources available and to meet the requirements of TfL and other bodies.
3. Monitor, adhere to and benchmark training KPIs – including time in training, hours and days in training and individual Trainers’ performances.
4. Liaise with other areas of the business day-to-day.
5. Ensure the Company Policy on Driver Quality monitoring and Driver licences is adhered to.
6. Ensure PCV tests are undertaken in the week due based on the KPI data as this is a leading KPI indicator. To ensure PCV driving tests are conducted to the standards set by the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
7. Ensure re-training is managed to avoid a less than favourable impact on the throughput of new drivers.
What we need from you:
You’ll have experience of working in a training environment in a managerial role with direct reports, potentially within an instructor or Examiner role.
You will have monitored and supported your team, advocating for best practice and managing KPI’s & metrics.
You’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to prioritise.
