The Team
You will join the core of a dedicated and passionate HR team who are working to grow a professional HR department. You will be working alongside colleagues who are focused, driven and keen to build the success of the department. In common with many growing businesses, the HR department has been built on the enthusiasm of HR generalists and the time is now right to start to recruit into the HR specialisms.
The Core HR team, based in Basingstoke, provide Centralised HR services to SCG, visiting the outlying offices, taking HR to the regions. The Core team is supported by HR Designates in some of the regional offices.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Recruitment Manager to develop our recruitment strategy with a focus not just on talent acquisition, but supporting and training managers in the skills they need so that recruitment truly becomes a collaborative event. You will work alongside the Head of HR Operations to oversee the full recruitment cycle including determining job requirements, screening, quality control of candidates, and managing and driving the interview process to include liaison with both candidates and colleagues.

The Role
This role is expected to be self-generating in terms of finding talent and is not an administrative role, simply liaising with agencies to find candidates. It is anticipated that candidates will be sourced through platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed and other job sites, balancing finding quality candidates for the business with maintenance of a suitable cost base.
Create strong talent pipelines for SCG’s current and future hiring needs, from implementing long-term recruiting strategies to planning interview and selection procedures.
Work closely with senior colleagues to identify resource needs, sourcing potential candidates through on-line channels (e.g. job boards, social platforms, and professional networks).
Create apprenticeship programs leveraging the business’s ability to draw from government grants that are available at any point in time, staying up to date as legislation and opportunities
change.
Manage and drive the full cycle recruitment process from vacancy identification to employment and onboarding, welcoming the successful candidates into the business.
Key Responsibilities
Use various methods to recruit and network with potential candidates including social media platforms.
Develop policies and procedures for talent benchmarking, talent assessment and interviewing working with the managers to improve their recruitment and interview skills.
Design and manage recruitment and selection processes, including co-ordinating with internal hiring managers to identify staffing needs, determine selection criteria and assist in the creation of job descriptions and interview questions.
Assess candidate information, review applications and participate in screening and interviewing candidates along with managing the recruitment cycle until the right candidate/s is secured.
Manage candidate pools to ensure qualified candidates remain engaged in current/future opportunities.
Create monthly reports on key recruitment metrics; this may include proactively seeking market intelligence to gain competitive advantage in attraction, assessment, and sourcing.
Work with our Marketing team to develop creative ways for addressing talent acquisition including LinkedIn presence.

Well-developed organisational and planning skills, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Experience and Skills
Previous relevant work experience preferably as a Recruitment Specialist or similar.
Exceptional ability to screen candidates, compile shortlists, and interview candidates.
Proficient in using company software, social media, and databases to connect with and reach out to potential candidates.
Experience developing and executing talent acquisition and candidate attraction strategies.
Firm understanding and implementation of recruiting metrics to drive decision-making.
Experience in creating awareness of the company’s employer brand and establishing professional relationships with candidates.
Adept at documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
