WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Reporting to the Executive Chef; the Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, from menu development to food preparation and plating standards. You will lead, inspire, and mentor a team of dedicated kitchen staff, maintaining the highest quality standards in food safety and presentation. This role is ideal for a chef with a creative flair, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. DUTIES Design and update menu items with a focus on [e.g., seasonal ingredients, unique flavours based on modern British cuisine] Lead, train, and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff. Ensure all dishes meet our high standards for quality and presentation Manage kitchen operations, including stock control, food preparation, and plating standards. Working alongside the Executive Chef for kitchen recruitment, training, return to works, chef development and appraisals Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control to maintain budget targets Oversee kitchen hygiene and compliance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house team for seamless service Continuously innovate with the Executive Chef to keep our menu exciting and fresh This is not a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday role, so working in the evening, at weekends and on public holidays is expected. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Proven experience as a Head Chef or Exec / Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality establishment. 3 Rosette experience or Michelin experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Exceptional culinary creativity and technical expertise. A proactive and organised approach to kitchen management. A passion for food trends and a commitment to delivering excellence. Understanding of food cost control and kitchen budgeting. Fluent English required Calm and consistent in their approach.
