Job Description:
At RSM, we want training to be more than just a transfer of knowledge. Training is a vital ingredient of every individual's development. It is highly valued and respected by the business.
To earn that respect, we design our courses in collaboration with the business to ensure we meet their needs. We are constantly striving to develop more engaging and innovative forms of training delivery to ensure that those who attend our courses want to keep coming back for more.
The role of Financial Reporting Technical Training Specialist is a fantastic opportunity for you to be a senior member of the Financial Reporting Training team and contribute to the development of the next generation of accountants and auditors at RSM. The growth of the business across all service lines gives rise to ever-increasing volume and complexity of financial reporting training needs.
Why is training unique at RSM?
At RSM, we believe that high-quality training is achieved when the trainer is involved at every stage. The training team is involved from the very start, collaborating with the business to scope the training needs. They bring innovation in the design of the training and are involved in the delivery of the finished product. The team has full responsibility for training projects and is supported throughout, including technical reviews, a separate team of eLearning developers, and peer reviews within the wider training team.
The training team works closely with various stakeholders from the business to develop and deliver a training program that responds to the regulatory rigors of the profession and complements the professional development of every team member.
RSM’s Financial Reporting training team partners with audit, tax, and consulting to contribute to the success of our firm and our clients.
The team helps empower our frontline colleagues through the design and delivery of clearly scoped, targeted training courses. Our training is built on a foundation of core financial reporting knowledge with bespoke design tailored to meet specific operational needs of the service line, helping to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
As a trainer of financial reporting for audit, you will:
* Develop close working relationships with the director of audit training and a range of stakeholders across the audit business to identify financial reporting training needs.
* Design and implement a training strategy to meet those needs.
* Work in close collaboration with the wider financial reporting team to identify economies of scale where training content has cross-service line relevance and benefit.
The successful candidate will:
* Be an excellent project manager with the ability to design and deliver complex training content meeting strict deadlines;
* Have experience in designing and delivering training across various mediums, with a focus on live online and eLearning, with minimal in-person training; and
* Be able to influence senior stakeholders to deliver premium training that meets the needs of the audit service line.
About the ideal candidate
Being a trainer is more than teaching standards. It’s about using your understanding of the subject matter to bring content to life. A confident presenter who can relay complex materials in an engaging and understandable manner is essential.
In addition to training delivery, supporting the wider training team in program development and coordination is required, making strong project and time management skills essential.
The role requires:
* ACA, ICAS, or equivalent qualification.
* Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is highly desirable, as is an interest in non-financial (narrative) reporting.
* Previous training experience is desirable but not essential.
* The role is home-based with an option to work flexibly from your local office. Training is mainly online, with occasional in-person sessions. Travel nationwide is required, with advance notice generally provided.
