Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This role requires a strong understanding of handmade pasta, culinary techniques, food safety practices, and the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
* Assist in the planning and execution of menus while ensuring quality control of all dishes served.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking methods, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
* Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
* Assist in creating innovative dishes that align with the restaurant's vision and customer preferences.
Skills
* Handmade pasta chef
* Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and production.
* Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a kitchen environment.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
* A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes or improving existing ones.
* Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments within the restaurant.
