The Junior Tester is part of the Information Technology Job Family. The grade for the role is T1.
Role Description
A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior Tester to join a thriving pensions technology business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a prominent role in supporting new business and change initiatives for our clients.
The Junior Tester will be required to:
* Review requirements and specifications, and define test conditions.
* Analyse test requirements, design and build test cases and test scripts under own direction, mapping back to pre-determined criteria. Prioritise sets of tests in order to carry out those most important within a limited timebox.
* Interpret and execute sets of moderately complex test scripts using agreed methods and standards, recording and reporting outcomes.
* Analyse test activities and results. Report test activities and results in a clear and concise manner.
* Use normal operating facilities, test scripts, diagnostic tools, technical manuals and system documentation to identify, diagnose and report on basic system errors.
* Identify and report issues and risks associated with own work.
* Record explicit details of failing test cases, such that project teams can understand and reproduce issues found.

* Having an eye for detail is an important skill for a junior software tester, as you will be tasked with applying specific quality standards to tasks undertaken to ensure that deliverables are accurate and complete.

* Be effective at communicating with stakeholders in writing, such as through report writing and via email.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience using SQL Databases including stored procedures
* Experience of Project Management tools such as Jira
* Experience of Test Management tools such as X-Ray

* Salary range highly competitive and dependent on experience
* Pension Contribution of 5% when you match with 5%
* Discretionary Bonus up to 10% (depending on personal and company performance)
