Are you a talented, creative, and passionate culinary expert seeking an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire a kitchen team? You will play a key part in developing, implementing, and crafting delectable dishes and delivering exceptional dining experiences. We are searching for a skilled and knowledgeable Head Chef with experience in Italian cuisine to lead our kitchen team at Giovanni's Italian Kitchen.
Working 45hrs over a 5-day working week. A competitive wage approx £37k comprised of salary plus gratuities and dependent on experience, and the option to join the company Pension Scheme.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the kitchen team with enthusiasm, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Collaborate with our Directors and Executive Chef to create an innovative menu that reflects our restaurant's culinary vision, incorporating seasonal and fresh locally sourced ingredients.
3. Focus on food preparation, ensuring all dishes are executed to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
4. Manage inventory, ensuring proper stock levels, and work closely with suppliers to maintain fresh and high-quality ingredients.
5. Implement and enforce Health and Safety and COSHH standards in the kitchen to guarantee a clean and safe workspace.
6. Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff, encouraging professional growth and a shared passion for culinary excellence.
7. Collaborate with management to plan special events.
8. Maintain a deep understanding of food costs and GP to contribute to the restaurant's financial success.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef.
2. Proven experience in an Italian restaurant.
3. Exceptional culinary skills and a keen eye for presentation.
4. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a kitchen team.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle a busy kitchen environment.
6. Knowledge of food and labour cost management to ensure profitability.
7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
8. Food Safety Level 2 or above.
9. Allergens Certification.
10. Experience in Italian cooking as well as steak, fish, and seafood.
