About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Talent Acquisition Manager to take ownership of all things hiring and talent at TransitionZero. This is a chance to make a real impact, helping us achieve our mission. This role will see you be a mixture of hands-on (owning the full hiring lifecycle) and strategic (building, scaling and improving our current hiring processes) by ensuring we attract and hire the best talent. Whilst this role is an initial 6 month fixed term contract and part time there is the potential for it to extend and/ or become a permanent, full time role.
All hiring is currently led by the existing People team and requires medium to high input from hiring managers. We are looking to transition from our current hiring practices and approach towards a more scalable, efficient and proactive one.
In the short term, once successfully onboarded, you will take over the day to day hiring activities of any live roles.
You will make minor improvements and tweaks to the process, whilst building and refining recruitment processes in the background and rolling these out for planned and future hires.
Whilst we have some flexibility of the exact working pattern and hours, we require the successful candidate to work a minimum of 4 days per week.
Short Term Goals (6 months after joining)
* Review, refine and improve our current hiring processes
* Take over and carry out all aspects of hiring
* Further configure and automate our recently implemented ATS
* Create baseline hiring metrics
* Build relationships with key stakeholders throughout TransitionZero deepening your knowledge and understanding of our strategy and what different teams do
Long Term Goals (12 months after joining)
* Partner with hiring managers and senior leadership and lead all aspects of hiring for future roles
* Proactively source and contact potential candidates, particularly niche talent
* Develop and deliver interviewer training
* Lead on and improve our current employer branding (working in conjunction with our MarComms team)
* Provide Talent Market Insights and scope ideal candidate profiles
Responsibilities
This role sits in our People team and you will work closely with and report to our Head of People. You will build trust and establish strong relationships both internally, and with candidates to ensure we attract and hire the best talent to add to our passionate and driven team. Work closely with hiring managers, the People team and Senior Leadership
* Lead on all aspects of the recruitment life cycle for all roles (technical and non technical) across TransitionZero from role scoping, JD drafting and refining, role posting, all the way through to making offers and onboarding
* Conduct initial candidate screening calls and schedule all interviews and ensuring a smooth interview process for all parties involved
* Utilise various sourcing methods (including job boards, social media, networking etc.) to identify and engage potential candidates.
* Proactively reach out to passive candidates and build a pipeline of talent, particularly in niche and specialised areas.
* Create and embed innovative and scalable solutions to continuously improve our hiring experience and processes
* Establish, update and improve our hiring metrics and KPIs to measure and increase the effectiveness of Talent Acquisition at TransitionZero
* Lead and deliver projects such as employment branding, interviewer training, and process improvement
* Proactively promote, embed and improve meaningful and effective efforts to ensure Diversity and Inclusion are an inherent part of how we attract and recruit talent at TransitionZero
About You
As an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager you should be passionate about building effective, scalable hiring processes. You have a natural ability to build relationships and a curiosity which leads you to naturally seek to deeply understand the roles you are hiring for, the impact and effect they’ll have on the business and the experience that candidates bring and offer.
While we are a rapidly growing tech startup, we are also a nonprofit, so a high level of adaptability and willingness to approach challenges with creativity and curiosity is essential.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Proven background and experience (5+ years) in leading the entire recruitment lifecycle, with some of that experience being in a startup environment
* Extensive experience hiring for both technical and non-technical roles, across a range of seniority levels
* Hands-on experience utilising and configuring Applicant Tracking Systems
* Deep knowledge of recruitment practices, principles, and methods, including interviewing and assessment
* A real passion and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and demonstrably ability to weave this meaningfully into hiring practices
* Highly motivated, with a positive, pragmatic, roll-your-sleeves-up mentality
* Excellent collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to build credibility with and your stakeholders
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, influencing and relationship-building skills
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Beneficial:
* A background (or interest) in executing innovative sourcing strategies
* Experience or knowledge of modelling or energy systems modelling
* Extensive experience hiring engineering, technical or analyst roles
Salary & Benefits
Base salary £35,000-40,000 prorated (£55,000-75,000 FTE)
