About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
The primary focus of this role is to support the delivery of all GIS products and services across the organisation. You will be reporting to the GIS Lead, and you will use coding, automation and technology to efficiently deliver workflows and provide innovation to the project.
The role requires strong GIS technical skills in data engineering using automated workflows, data management and modelling, creativity and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
We require you to apply best practices and industry standards to perform data management and analytical GIS tasks to a high standard. You will need to maintain the GIS database(s) in line with project standards and procedures, utilising automation and data assurance to ensure data integrity, quality and auditability. We’d also like you to undertake regular reviews of spatial data standards, procedures and quality assurance. In managing the GIS databases, a key responsibility shall be to support the wider GIS team to create new datasets on our ArcGIS Enterprise Portal environment that are on a federated server; ensuring data quality and capabilities are enabled to support wider solution development. You shall also be responsible for supporting and reviewing development solutions across the ESRI Suite with the GIS team as an administrator of the Portal environment.
You will be responsible for developing and documenting FME workbenches to automate workflows and processes. We’d also need you to identify and communicate potential innovations to the GIS Lead. Supporting the supply chain with requests for geospatial data and management of the data catalogue is key in this role. Also, supporting spatial data testing, reviewing, and deriving of new data as required. You will need to effectively manage spatial data across the whole of project lifecycle. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring quality deliverables of GIS data to the client on time.
About The Candidate
GIS Degree or related field (relevant MSc is desirable) or degree in Computer Science with GIS background
Sound understanding of spatial data structures and fundamental concepts of GIS
Proven experience in using ESRI products including ArcGIS Pro, and enterprise geodatabases, plus extensions
Proven experience in using ESRI online platforms (ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise Portal) with desirable experience in ArcGIS Server administration
Proven experience in developing Safe FME workbenches; desirable if have experience of working with FME Flow
Proven experience in Model Builder and / or writing Python scripts to automate processes
Demonstrable experience in managing large volumes of spatial data from a variety of sources
Experience with creating, working with and management of multiple evolving datasets
Experience in translation of data between BIM-GIS
Desirable experience in SQL server (querying, spatial functions, TSQL, triggers, reporting services etc.)
Exposure to developing and maintaining web GIS and / or enterprise GIS technologies desirable
