YOUR IMPACT The Vendor Content Specialist sits within the Market Data Business Analyst team at Goldman Sachs, who are responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders on the selection of products and datasets, assist with modelling requirements as well as ongoing management of the Firm’s market data spend with third party vendors. The team provide guidance to internal users on data services and datasets appropriate for specific roles and use cases, coordinate expense management initiatives and provide data analytics to enable users and internal business teams to manage costs effectively. The role provides the opportunity to directly contribute to managing the firms operating costs by building data analytics and automated workflow that help end-users and internal business teams to manage their market data spend effectively. You will have the opportunity to partner with divisional management and business unit leadership teams to implement expense management initiatives. The role will provide the opportunity to deep dive into specialist datasets and you will be responsible for identifying modelling requirements based on business needs. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW WILL YOU FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL You will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication Driving strategic initiatives and deliver key programs of work across Market Data and the broader division Your detailed knowledge of market data vendor products and specialist datasets and an understanding of the Goldman Sachs business functions will enable you to formulate strategies to reduce operating expenses and impact revenue for the firm Building data analytics using popular storage and visualization technologies to empower market data users to manage their costs Interface with divisional leadership and front office users to implement expense management initiatives Continually evaluate the vendor landscape to identify new offerings and datasets that may increase value and efficiency for our employees and applications who require access to market data BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 2 years minimum experience in Market Data Familiar with products and datasets offered by Market Data vendors Experience with interrogating large datasets PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Python and SQL programming skills Experience working in financial institutions and interacting with front office staffs Experience with project management Experience of publishing and modelling data with distributed storage platforms such as Hadoop or data ingestion into Snowflake Experience with using visualization software (Tableau, Qlikview or equivalent) FISD’s Financial Information Associate certification General understanding of the capital markets Experience of the MDSL MDM inventory system ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
