Are you passionate about automation testing and ready to lead by example? Do you thrive on influencing others, building solutions from the ground up, and embedding best practices within an SDLC?
We're are looking to recruit a contract Automation Tester on a 3-6 month contract inside IR35 (with potential to be extended). This is a hybrid role with occasional time spent on client site.
Requirements
What you'll do:
* Lead the team in adopting and implementing automation testing best practices.
* Build automation frameworks and test suites from scratch, tailored to project needs.
* Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
* Educate and influence team members on the importance of automation and how to implement it effectively.
* Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement through automation.
* Ensure comprehensive test coverage across APIs, UI, and other components.
* Act as a hands-on technical leader, performing both strategic and execution tasks.
What you'll bring:
* Proven experience in building and implementing automation frameworks from the ground up.
* Technical expertise with automation tools.
* Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Powershell, or Bash).
* Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline integration and test management.
* Strong understanding of cloud-based automation and testing strategies within Azure environments.
* Deep understanding of SDLC best practices and how automation fits into Agile workflows.
* A confident leader with strong influencing skills and the ability to bring teams on the journey.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to “do the doing” while leading.
* Strong communication skills to mentor and inspire team members at all levels.
