Responsibilities:
9. Collaborate closely with the head chef to develop menus that align with their culinary vision and standards.
10. Assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
11. Oversee food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating presentations to guarantee high-quality and visually appealing dishes.
12. Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
13. Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of food and ingredient costs.
14. Assist in creating and implementing new recipes, ensuring their consistent execution and maintaining recipe documentation.
15. Continuously strive to improve culinary techniques and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
16. Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
17. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Requirements:
18. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a reputable B&I or education environment..
19. Solid knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
20. In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
21. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team.
22. Creativity and the ability to develop innovative dishes while adhering to our culinary concept.
23. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
24. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
25. A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
