Dakota Hotel based in Motherwell are seeking a creative Chef with stron g leadership skills to join our Kitchen Team in the role of Sous Chef. CONTRACT AND PAY RATE Earnings are £14.20 per hour, paid weekly equating to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £35,000 (inclusive of the anticipated tronc payment). The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 44 hours per week working any 4 or 5 days out of 7. PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Supportin g the Head the runnin g of the Kitchen includin g leadin g a smooth and busy service. Carry out mana g erial responsibilities includin g holdin g interviews and trial shifts, holdin g appraisals, and performance mana g ement. Support in drivin g the commercial performance of the kitchen by writin g rotas and mana g in g holidays, whelpin g to write costed menus in line with the desired G P, carryin g out stock take, and places orders. Prepare and cook dishes accordin g to the specification as set out by the Head Chef. This pertains to all menus includin g a la carte, room service, breakfast, bar food, bar snacks, events, and g uest amenities. Be committed to workin g wholeheartedly as part of the team, effectively and positively communicatin g with all members of the kitchen and front of house team. Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills which are in line with our positive and inclusive workin g environment. A minimum of 3 years experience as a Junior Sous or above.
