Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK We are currently recruiting for Data Engineer to join our Engineering & Asset Management team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink. As a Data Engineer, you will maintain and develop the Engineering Departments internal software systems. You will work on system developments and enhancements across a wide variety of business and operational systems. Provide support to the RCM Engineer to ensure compliance with all relevant technical standards; Delivery of all the specified project outcomes on time, within budget and to the quality required. You will work under the guidance of the RCM Engineer and analyse the data being collected with a view to improve the organisations understanding of how assets are being used, what it looks like when they perform well and how they fail. You will support the Engineering Department in the development, proposals, and implementation of reliability Centred Maintenance initiatives. Key accountabilities will include: Contribute to the continuous improvement of asset performance through data analysis systems that can detect the degradation of performance and notify the relevant maintenance teams in time to prevent a service effecting failure. Meet with prospective internal client to understand and define user requirements. Effectively work with key stakeholder, peers and colleagues from project inception through to delivery, support and maintenance. Implement requirements to deliver functionally correct, efficient, maintainable, and error free scripts which fully meets the client requirements and in accordance with relevant standards. Test scripts in controlled situations as part of an agreed acceptance strategy. Prepare and check technical reports and other written documents in an appropriate format ensuring compliance with KAM procedures Apply Reliability Centred Maintenance to drive maintenance efficiency and asset performance improvement. Work collaboratively with internal Engineering teams. What you’ll bring: Qualified to HNC/D or NVQ level 4 in STEM subject and/or experience of working in an engineering data environment. A strong working knowledge of common database and data storage technologies. Experience and knowledge of a wide range of languages and ability to pick up new languages easily. Ability to code, debug and document scripts for small projects. Familiarity working with and deploying cloud-based service and infrastructure. Familiarity with each stage of the development lifecycle, including but not limited to user studies, feasibility, estimation, design, implementation, integration, test and acceptance. Desirable - Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance principles and its application.
