Our Head
Chef
As the Head
Chef of our flagship restaurant, you will be both a creative and operational
leader. Your role will be pivotal in overseeing the day-to-day running of the
kitchen. You will lead a talented team of chefs, developing innovative seasonal
menus in collaboration with our horticulture team, showcasing the freshest
estate-grown ingredients and our farm to table ethos.
Confident,
self-motivated, and inspirational, you will build strong relationships with the
front-of-house team to deliver seamless service.
Key
Responsibilities
* Oversee
all culinary operations of the Botanical Rooms Restaurant, ensuring the
delivery of high-quality seasonally led dishes.
* Ensure
the kitchen delivers exceptional food whilst maintaining the highest
standards of consistency and quality.
* Ensure
compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations,
including allergen management.
* Train
and mentor, the kitchen team, ensuring a focus on development, engagement,
and retention.
* Control
kitchen costs, including food costs, labour, and waste, ensuring
profitability and efficiency.
* Collaborate
with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest
experiences.
* Participate
in menu tastings, reviews, and adjustments based on guest feedback and
trends.
* Ensure
efficient kitchen management, cost control, and compliance with all food
safety regulations, while maintaining a focus on delivering an outstanding
guest experience.
* Managing
food costs, waste reduction, and staff efficiency are critical to success.
* Play a key role in driving the
business forward by contributing to and participating in the strategic
development of the hotel and estate.
* Maintain high visibility with
both customers and the team, supporting initiatives to enhance the
reputation of the hotel, estate, and its cuisine.
What we're
looking for
* Previous
experience as a Head Chef in a similar environment; ideally Hotel
experience.
* Strong
team management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and
develop your team.
* Experience
in managing staff costs, scheduling and reviewing staff rotas
* A
highly creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail;
* Excellent
business relationship skills
* Commercial
minded with evidence of successfully managing costs in line with
exceptional delivery.
* Experience
of ensuring profit margins and targets are met or exceeded.
* A
solid background in working with key stakeholders internally and
externally to achieve targets
