We are seeking a talented and experienced sous chef to join our small but passionate team. As the Sous Chef, youll deputize for the head chef, ensuring every plate that leaves the kitchen is the best it can possibly be. Our sous chef will be able to run service efficiently, prep meticulously, be organized and always work with hygiene and cleanliness as a priority. This role represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a new project and offers significant growth opportunities. Responsibilities:
Service: To be able to run service confidently and efficiently in the head chefs absence and have a flair for presentation of dishes.
Food Preparation:Prepare the menu to spec, working cleanly and minimizing waste wherever possible
Quality Control:Ensure that all the dishes meet our standards tasting constantly
Hygiene and Safety:Maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following food safety guidelines.
Team Leadership:Lead and motivate the team, delegating tasks, and developing junior chefs.
Inventory Management:Check early morning deliveries and manage inventory efficiently including stock takes.
Creative input: Work closely with the head chef to develop future menus and specials
Requirements:
Experience:Proven experience as a sous chef, jr sous or senior CDP.
Culinary Skills:Proficient in food preparation and cooking techniques.
Leadership:Strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively.
Attention to Detail:Ensure precision in food presentation and quality.
Hygiene Certification:Food hygiene level 2 required (level 3 preferred)
Attitude: A can-do attitude at all times. Skills can be taught. A positive attitude is innate
