This is a great opportunity for a Temporary Sous Chef who enjoys working with seasonal, all fresh produce, creating traditional British dishes for this busy cafe and events venue. With a great reputation with the locals and an establishment tourists will not be disappointed with when visiting the area!
Responsibilities:
* Maintain high standards in the kitchen on the Head Chef's days off.
What we need from you:
1. A minimum of 1 year experience as Sous Chef in a similar restaurant or dining pub.
2. Competent in creating innovative dishes with fresh, locally sourced seasonal produce.
3. Experience in menu costing, with a solid understanding of how to control wastage.
4. Food Hygiene & Health & Safety knowledge & certificates.
5. Ability to prioritise & manage workloads to effectively cope with pressured & high volume service.
6. A solid understanding of stock management.
7. A passion for sourcing quality fresh produce & management of your supply base.
8. Enthusiasm to help head chef empower & develop your team through mentoring & training at all levels.
9. An eye for detail & a passion for making dishes look almost as good as they taste.
10. A driven individual, always striving to improve & move the business forward.
11. Passionate about great tasting quality fresh food both in & out of work.
12. Flexible & display a proactive, 'Can Do' attitude.
