Anspear is looking for a creative and innovative Learning Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting effective learning experiences that enhance engagement and knowledge retention. You will contribute to the development of a diverse range of online programmes, courses and modules in the education sector, including university degrees, teacher training modules, CPD and short courses. Your role will involve collaborating with clients, partners, subject matter experts and designers to produce high-quality, learner-centred content.
Key responsibilities
* Design and develop learning materials such as online courses, learning modules and degree courses.
* Collaborate with clients, partners and subject matter experts to adapt or create content, activities and assessments suitable for online learning.
* Develop and apply a learning philosophy grounded in key pedagogical principles and supported by cognitive science research.
* Select, restructure, edit and write content to ensure it is clear, relevant and aligned with learning objectives.
* Proofread and refine content to ensure accuracy and consistency across all learning materials.
* Work closely with subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and ensure content accuracy.
* Develop and organise curricula for various programmes.
* Update and revise existing learning materials to incorporate best practices and feedback from clients and users.
Project management
* Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
* Work with developers and graphic designers to produce and deliver learning content.
* Monitor project progress, manage timelines and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Evaluation and improvement
* Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning programmes and modules.
* Analyse feedback and data to improve the learning experience and its effectiveness.
Skills, knowledge and experience
* A degree in any discipline.
* Ability to select relevant information and present complex ideas clearly and creatively.
* Strong writing skills with the ability to produce engaging content for various media and audiences.
* Excellent attention to detail, with a keen eye for spotting and correcting errors.
* Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* A strong interest in education, learning and technology.
* Ability to take initiative, work independently and quickly learn new skills.
* A curious mind and enthusiasm for research.
* A qualification in teaching or learning design.
* Experience in higher education.
* Experience in designing and developing effective and engaging digital learning experiences.
* A strong understanding of digital pedagogies and adult learning theory.
* Familiarity with the ADDIE model or similar design frameworks.
* Knowledge of accessibility frameworks and inclusive design.
* An interest in emerging technologies and developments in educational technology.
We are located near the centre of Cambridge, close to the train station. While most of our team members come into the office 2-3 days a week or more, we offer flexibility if you prefer to work more or less in the office. We are open to fully remote candidates, but we will give priority to those who are open to a hybrid work model.
