Job Description:
About The Role
We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin's Buffet Department based in Bognor Regis. Reporting to the Senior Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and lead a team of up to 40. Making our guests smile is at the heart of our values, and you will ensure this happens consistently by keeping guests as the central focus of all operational decisions. This includes resource planning, recruitment, and selection to ensure we have the very best team in place to deliver amazing service.
You will be passionate about exceptional experiences and will monitor this regularly to develop action plans in your venue with a focus on continuous improvement. Financial performance will be crucial in your role, and you will deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking to standards and specifications. You will also support the accountability of food hygiene standards and health and safety, in line with legislation and company policies.
You will be a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, ensuring training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to deliver a great experience to guests every time. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop the skills of a team in our main buffet restaurant serving guests who have booked a half-board dining package.
About You
We are looking for individuals with experience in a similar level role, or those looking to step up to their next role in the kitchen. You should be hard-working, determined, and reliable, always looking for better ways for the team to consistently deliver our brand standards. We seek candidates who are energetic, enthusiastic, high-spirited, and fun-loving, understanding their role and the value they can add to the guest experience by unleashing the potential of the team.
You should have passed your Level 3 Food Safety qualification and be confident in leading a team to continually deliver high standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will also be responsible for managing margins, controlling costs, and ensuring health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Typical working hours include working five days over seven, covering 40 hours per week, and are part of a bonus scheme. This is a unique opportunity to work in a kitchen environment without split shifts, with a typical finish by 8pm.
