Job description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef in food production and ensuring that high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your leadership and hospitality skills will be essential in fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food production.
2. Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
3. Oversee food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
4. Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations.
5. Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety practices.
6. Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.
7. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative dishes that reflect seasonal ingredients.
8. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
Experience
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
3. Excellent knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
4. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
5. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
6. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
7. Able to work alone if needed.
