Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and professional DBS Checked Sous Chef to join the team in Northampton. This is a full-time, permanent position with Monday to Friday working hours from 08:00 to 14:00. As the Sous Chef, you will assist in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals are prepared for students and staff, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting the Head Chef in meal preparation, cooking, and menu planning
Ensuring food is prepared and served in compliance with health and safety regulations
Managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies
Leading and mentoring junior kitchen staff and kitchen assistants
Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe, and well-organised
Adhering to portion control and food costing
Ad hoc kitchen duties as required to support the team
Key Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check with Child Workforce (dated within the last 4 years)
A minimum of 1 years experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen management role
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
