Located in the heart of Merivale, Brigittes has the dream hospitality hours! We are open Monday-Friday 7.30am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am-3pm, opening occasionally during evenings for private events and functions as well (with notice).
We are also expanding our reach. Our owner/operator will be splitting their time between sites, so we are needing an experienced Head Chef to take charge and lead Brigittes Merivale into 2025 and beyond. You will still report to the owner and have sole charge of the kitchen when they are not present.
We are looking for someone with good work ethics, a creative flare, and someone who can help to take Brigittes Merivale to the next level; clear leadership, strong development, and solid ideas to help us and yourself grow.
Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
1. Standard opening and closing procedures
2. Demonstrating quality cooking techniques and procedures at all times
3. Quality control and consistency of dishes produced at all stages of preparation and presentation
4. Ensuring a smooth service and customer satisfaction
5. Leading and developing the team from the front
6. Creating seasonal menus keeping in line with market trends
7. Daily ordering
8. Overseeing and maintaining the kitchen's Food Control Plan
9. Stock management & budgeting
10. Monthly stocktake
11. Enforcing hygiene regulations including a daily and weekly cleaning list
12. Adhering to all legal requirements of the business
A minimum of 45 hours a week is expected, and pay is based on experience. Suitable applicants will hold an existing working visa or be a permanent NZ resident/citizen.
