Sales Executive, Essex/Suffolk Border
£32K + Car Allowance, Commission + Bonus

TLP Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK Freight Forwarding company with over a 35-year history in the business and looking for a Sales Executive to join their team on the Essex/Suffolk borders in the New Year.
Role Description
The Sales Executive is responsible for obtaining new clients and reengaging with old clients to provide sales quotations and to give ongoing assistance to overseas customers and agency development. The Sales Executive is also responsible for the work distribution to one other in the sales team.
1. Providing sales quotations to prospective new clients, upselling to new and lapsed clients as well as web enquiries.
2. Use our in-house freight software to form quotations and sales reports.
3. Effective interaction with the Operations team, working alongside them on new client bookings.
4. Achieving KPIs set by the Business Development team for number of new conversions.
5. Review monthly profit/loss report to ensure alignment with expected budgets.
6. Maintain data records of prospective new clients.
7. Plan and organize sales activities in connection with our Business Development Plan and liaising with the Business Development team.
8. Research prospective customers and identify new leads.
9. Work with the Commercial Director on marketing activities to gain new leads.
10. Attend local networking events and webinars.
11. Support new business opportunities with our international agency network.
12. Future international travel opportunities to network with agency partners.
13. Look for and set up new partners/suppliers with improved services or more cost-effective shipping techniques while maintaining service levels.
14. Negotiate with all major shipping lines, partners/suppliers on our rates to find cost savings where possible.
Qualifications
1. Knowledge of the Freight Forwarding industry/Interest in pursuing a career in the industry.
2. Proven sales experience within this industry.
3. Social Media skills.
4. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
5. Full driving license.
