We have a fantastic opportunity available to join the team at Farnborough International as a Head Chef. We are looking to recruit a Head Chef who enjoys delivering first class food and will cater for the retail operation as well as a wide range of hospitality events and conferences.
Your main duties will include the planning, preparation and delivery of all types of food and concepts to a set specification and standards. You will have to monitor your team’s performance and ensure that all hygiene and health & safety compliance is being adhered to.
Proven experience in a similar style kitchen operation is essential, along with the willingness to work with the team to always strive to take the food offering to a new and exciting level. Have knowledge of menu design along with a thorough understanding of both cost and wastage control.
As part of this role you will deal with all various aspects of kitchen management, which includes maintaining stock file integrity, stocktake managing food costs and wastage control. You must have the willingness to learn new skills, which includes the Groups IT systems.
As an individual ideally you will have 4 years’ experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar quality establishment and hold NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in food preparation and cooking, be qualified to Level 3 in Food Safety (or be willing to undertake training to obtain).
Teamwork, excellent time management and having a flexible approach to work in a varied operation is essential along with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service.
Your role will be predominately based at Farnborough International however at times you may be required to work at the group’s other venues and events.
This position is ideal for a forward-thinking chef who wishes to increase their knowledge of food and progress his/her career within the NEC Group. Previous experience is essential.
