The Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen, ensuring smooth service and consistently high standards. You’ll play a key role in menu development, maintaining food quality, and training junior staff, all while upholding a positive and professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
2. Help develop seasonal menus, incorporating traditional pub dishes alongside global influences.
3. Oversee kitchen operations during service, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
4. Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff, fostering a team-focused environment.
5. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
6. Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering ingredients, and minimize waste.
7. Step up in the Head Chef’s absence, managing the kitchen team and ensuring seamless service.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar pub or restaurant setting.
2. Passion for British pub classics and global flavours, with a keen eye for detail.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
4. A hands-on approach and ability to work well under pressure during busy services.
5. Sound knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
6. A positive attitude, creativity, and a willingness to adapt and learn.
