As a Teacher of Music and Art, you will have the unique opportunity to inspire students across two creative disciplines. Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in Music and Art for Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students.
2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
3. Teach a variety of musical styles and techniques, including performance, theory, and music history.
4. Deliver engaging visual arts lessons, covering various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art.
5. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as school concerts, art exhibitions, and music clubs.
6. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
7. Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate arts across the curriculum.
8. Maintain and manage classroom resources, including musical instruments, art supplies, and digital tools.
9. Encourage student participation in school and community events related to music and art.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. Experience teaching Music and/or Art, ideally across different year groups.
3. Strong subject knowledge in both disciplines, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
4. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
6. Passion for arts education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students.
7. Experience in organizing school concerts, art exhibitions, or other creative events.
8. Proficiency in using digital art tools, music software, or other creative technologies.
9. Knowledge of diverse musical genres and contemporary art practices.
