Spire Leicester are seeking a Head Chef to lead, drive, develop and manage a dynamic, passionate, hard-working team to deliver a customer focused, five-star experience to all Patients, Consultants and Colleagues at the hospital.
The Head Chef will play an active role within the hospital management team, attending key meetings, contributing to the delivery of the Hospital strategy within the non-clinical team, controlling budget (including staff costs) and ensuing all policies and protocols are followed.
The role will suit someone that is a hands on chef looking for the next step up into a management role.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all legislative regulations regarding food hygiene, licensing, health & safety, risk management is complied with.
2. To manage the Hospitality services team with line reports of the catering and pantry team
3. To plan and organise Catering for the hospital on a day-to-day basis.
4. To ensure effective day to day control of all staffing rosters and pay expenditures
5. Responsible for Food Safety Standards within the hospital
6. Active hands on chef role
Who were looking for:
7. Previous hotel service management experience coupled with a City and Guilds or equivalent qualification
8. Experience in supervising a team
9. Advanced qualification/s in Food Hygiene or a relevant catering qualification.
10. Customer oriented; friendly and able to exude an approachable attitude towards patients and colleagues.
11. A problem-solving approach and a leader of change
12. A professional attitude with a concern for quality and customer service
13. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
14. Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3)
15. Ability to adapt menus to meet special dietary requirements.
16. Hospitality (or Hospital) background - desirable
17. Experience of managing a budget - desirable
Hours: Full-time permanent, Mon - Sun 5 days out of 7 from shifts between the hours of 7am - 8pm
