Job Description: Sous Chef
Join our dynamic team in our 2AA Rosette, Michelin listed restaurant in Amersham as a Sous Chef, where you will play a key role in creating exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. This is a full-time position located in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, with an annual salary ranging from £38,000 to £40,000.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure smooth service.
* Prepare and cook dishes following the restaurant’s menu specifications and seasonal offerings.
* Monitor food safety and hygiene practices in compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients and supplies.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items and specials based on seasonal ingredients.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and all food preparation areas.
* Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Essential Qualifications:
* Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable, but specific educational qualifications are not mandatory.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage kitchen operations.
* Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Desired Experience:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a reputable kitchen or restaurant.
* Experience in leading a kitchen team and training staff members.
* Familiarity with various cooking techniques, styles, and cuisines.
* Experience in menu planning and food costing is an advantage.
