We're looking for a Head Chef to join our friendly kitchen team on a full-time permanent basis. Immediate start available.
Days are Sun - Thu. Shifts range between 5:30am - 3:30pm. Minimum 37 hours per week. Flexibility is a must.
As Head Chef, your responsibilities will include:
* The day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Food Safety & Compliance
* Health, Safety & Hygiene Protocols
* Product Purchasing & Returns
* Menu & Cabinet Food Development
* Stock Control & Rotation
* Managing Food Costs & Wastage
* Supervising the Kitchen Team
You will need to have a passion for making high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment to Columbus Coffee Franchise standards. A good knowledge of all areas of the kitchen including cooking, baking, food prep, and dietary requirements is essential. You will be well-organized, have excellent timekeeping skills, and the ability to multi-task. You must be clean and tidy in both your person and work station.
As we are part of a large franchise, we provide a wide range of support from our Head Office Team. All menus are developed by the Columbus Food Team; however, there is room for you to be creative and innovative when creating our own signature local favorite menu items. You will also have plenty of room to be creative when designing items for our cabinet range.
You must have at least 5 years of minimum experience in a similar role, with a minimum cookery level 4 qualification. Experience with Food Safety and using an FCP is required. First Aid certification is desirable. Applicants for this position should have NZ Citizenship, Residency, or a valid NZ work visa.
