We’re seeking a talented and motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our dynamic Claims Analytics team. Our aim is to deliver a robust platform that enables Machine Learning and analytics to drive indemnity savings, efficiency benefits and improved customer outcomes. We’re focused on developing our data engineering capability so that machine learning and AI solutions can be developed and deployed internally in a sustainable way within claims analytics. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills in data orchestration, data governance, CI/CD and MLOps. You’ll assist in the development of robust data pipelines, optimise data storage and retrieval, and contribute to the overall success of our data-driven initiatives.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing:
* Support in the designing, building and deploying data systems, pipelines, and applications.
* Build a detailed knowledge of AXA data sources, both internal and external.
* Ingest data from a variety of data sources from relational databases to unstructured data such as text documents.
* Undertake maintenance of data pipelines.
* Operate in fast-paced, iterative environment while remaining compliant with Information Security policies and standards.
* Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to prepare data for use in their advanced analytical models.
* Implementing activities such as more advanced orchestration (DAGs), data quality checks, catalogues, and MLOps.
* Design re-usable code and data assets to enable team activity using Software Engineering best practices and code frameworks.
What you’ll bring:
* Knowledge and interest in Azure Cloud platforms and Azure Databricks.
* Experience with Python and other programming languages.
* Understanding of MLOps and CI/CD.
* Ability to work across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, extracting information and identifying linkages across disparate data sets.
* Previous exposure to Financial Services data would be advantageous.
