Aramark HMP Millsike Nr York Day Shifts £14.50/hour We are looking for a Head Chef to manage a team of 3 Chefs and a Prisoner Workforce. Aramark have an exciting opportunity arise for a chef to work within our catering team here at HMP Millsike; this is a role that involves working with and supervising our Prisoner Workforce and catering for approximately 1400 people twice a day. As part of the team, we train and encourage our prisoner workforce to learn vital life skills and qualifications. You would be working an average of 38 hours a week, hours are from 07:00 - 18:00 on a rolling 3 on, 3 off shift pattern; meaning you know your shifts for the whole year in advance. This role has the stability and routine that contract catering brings, but the unpredictability to keep us chefs on our toes daily. It could be last minute hospitality requests, or force majeure. You will be leading a team of 3 Aramark Chefs, who in turn will assist you in managing the Prisoner Workforce. You should be assertive but level-headed in your management style and nurture your team so that you can delegate downwards. Ensure good handovers when shift changes and ensure all staff know all jobs within the kitchen environment. You will provide a vital link between the core kitchen workers and onsite management team.
