About The Role The Head of Testing and Commissioning is accountable for the strategic direction, development, management and assurance of all testing and commissioning activities for Boldyn UK&I. Initial focus on the London Underground (LU) programme but expanding across all delivery functions. Responsible to ensure we meet/exceed standards with the right level of documentation to meet all business objectives. Ensuring customer satisfaction, team development and supply chain growth to ensure that we have a scalable testing and commissioning model. What You’ll Be Doing Overall accountability of the delivery of testing and commissioning plans across all projects and verticals for Boldyn UK&I Ensure safety and quality management are given the highest priority in delivering the work schedule to achieve right first-time delivery Ensure plans are executed to meet customers’ applicable standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the programme is delivered in a safe and environmentally responsible manner against time, cost, and quality Management and continuous improvement of Health and Safety processes, controls, and initiatives Lead the preparation of comprehensive Testing & Commissioning handover documentation, guaranteeing a smooth transition to operations. Work collaboratively with all Operations stakeholders to ensure that the testing schedule and activities do not adversely impact business deliverables Manage partners and clients to ensure all testing activities are completed to Boldyn’s standards Provide feedback to design and delivery teams for improvements to supplier equipment, processes, or installations Report to the programme management office status of activities in a manner that allows all stakeholders to clearly understand status of works Build and maintain a high performing team, provide strong leadership, coaching and mentoring of staff, identifying potential leaders for new team development and the scaling of resources as required. Achievement of financial targets, assisting the finance team with forecasting, planning, and ensuring that costs are controlled. Ensuring effective resource forecasting, planning and the efficient allocation of engineers, consultants, and resources to ensure delivery on time and enable ramp up of Testing and Commissioning activities, as necessary. Escalation of performance issues in a timely manner. Management of customers, both internal and external relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and acting on any feedback received. Continuous improvement of team capabilities, and delivery/wider Operations processes Working with the Design Team drive measurable improvement in site designs based on test output and lessons learned being shared between the teams Contribute and shape specific testing and commissioning scope for contracted engagement with Boldyn partners and suppliers including delivery cost modelling What You’ll Bring A comprehensive understanding of Mobile Network Operators or Telecoms vendors is required to effectively manage the working relationship. Analytical and detail oriented, problem-solving skills with experience of analysing and interpreting technical procedures. Analysing and interpreting large scale customer engagements Proven leadership experience in building and managing matrix teams – contractors/partners/employees Experience of leading others to achieve ambitious targets and to pivot as needed to deliver the right outcome for the Customer. Evident management experience of large teams Experience with Wireless Service Providers and their technical and business requirements.
