At Select Hospitality, we are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Sous Chef with experience cooking Indian dishes. The client is a stunning Traditional Coastal Hotel serving contemporary Indian Cuisine.
I am looking for a strong, passionate chef who is experienced in cooking Indian Cuisine, using traditional Indian ingredients and cooking methods, and someone with a passion for cooking everything fresh daily. The business is very popular with locals, regulars, destination customers, as well as business guests and private dining.
The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work across all sections in the kitchen, including lunch, dinner, and private functions. The client is looking for a Sous Chef who is happy working alongside an award-winning Chef, being involved with menu direction and new dishes, team training, and stocktakes. You will also get the opportunity to be heavily involved with the daily changing specials menu.
The ideal candidate will come from a busy Indian fresh food background, have a good understanding of menu writing and costing, stocktakes, full due diligence, and be able to run the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to work a variety of shifts covering weekends, bank holidays, and evenings.
