Located halfway between Liverpool and Manchester, our client is a 4 star hotel in the Haydock area of Merseyside, with excellent public transport and motorway links.
If you’re looking for a role where you are kept busy, then look no further! This hotel is busy all week with a mixture of both business and leisure guests, due to its ideal location and facilities. Monday to Wednesday, their business is more conference orientated which occupy the hotels 18 conference rooms and can cater for up to 250 covers. At dinnertime, they are busy with their bar/grill menu, which caters for an average of 100-150 covers and offers diners a variety of dishes including burgers and steaks.
As the week goes on, trade turns more function and leisure-orientated as the hotel is close to the local racecourse, just a short drive to Liverpool City Centre and the nearby football stadiums in Liverpool and Manchester. The 2 function rooms can accommodate up to 170 people, the 90 seater main restaurant can easily be turned around of a night and the lounge/bar area can also see another 120 covers, so you can expect to be kept on your toes!

What’s involved?
As the Junior Sous Chef, you work with an experienced Head Chef who is passionate about delivering guests a memorable dining experience. Whilst you should be able to work to company brand standards, you will also be keen to create your own dishes for the ‘specials’ board, using a mixture of both fresh and bought in ingredients.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can help to grow and motivate the current team of 7 chefs, passing on their experience to the more junior chefs. You should be enthusiastic about creating mouthwatering dishes but also be keen to learn in order to progress in your own career too.
