IT Technician / Helpdesk Support Engineer / Service Desk Analyst

Role Purpose
To provide 1st and 2nd line IT support and ensure that end users are receiving timely assistance and solutions. You will be supporting both office and remote field end users either face to face or via phone call, email, and remote control. You will assist on a range of IT projects, system audits, network monitoring, and security checks. This role would be suitable for a recent graduate with IT background knowledge or someone with 1-2 years of experience working in IT.
Key tasks and responsibilities
* Install and set up new computers for new starters following IT procedures.
* Maintain and upgrade desktops, laptops, mobiles, and tablets as per IT guidelines.
* Set up and maintain printers, hotspot routers, access points, and other IT devices.
* Support and troubleshoot issues related to Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365.
* Install and support applications from various software vendors.
* Update IT documentation and create new guides for users, maintaining the online knowledgebase.
* Maintain the IT store and equipment inventory records.
* Support IT projects and business requirements.
* Take calls and update support tickets on the IT Service Desk.
* Assist with IT projects, working with 2nd and 3rd line IT staff.
* Monitor the network and help with system audits, data input, reporting, documenting, and scheduled security checks.
* Work as a team player.
* Have a courteous manner.
* Be committed to expanding skill set.
* Have the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
* Possess analysis and problem-solving skills.
* Be able to prioritise and manage tasks.
* Manage a heavy workload whilst consistently producing high-quality work to tight deadlines.
Location: Manchester
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, with 37 hours per week.
