Position: Kitchen Manager, Deli & Cafe
Location: Leeds
Salary: £13 per hour
Schedule: Daytimes, straight shifts.
Our clients are recruiting a Kitchen Manager who also has experience as a baker or experienced chef for this lovely established deli and cafe in this affluent Leeds suburb.
Offering a competitive salary based on an hourly rate, a daytime only operation as the kitchen closes at 3pm, straight shifts, and a real input into the menu as well as the opportunity to learn new skills such as making charcuterie. This is the perfect position for a chef with bakery and chef experience to come in, work alongside the existing head chef, and make a mark on the fantastic reputation this deli already holds for its freshly baked foods.
This is also the ideal position for a Kitchen Manager who is looking to come away from the long 12-hour days and enjoy a position where you can still be cooking every day but have a real work/life balance.
The ideal chef will be able to demonstrate:
1. A calm and composed personality, with the ability to lead and enthuse the junior chefs during busy periods as well as in downtime.
2. Experience working in a fresh food-led café would be ideal, although experience working in a busy afternoon tea venue would also be of benefit.
3. An understanding of the latest H&S, allergen regulations, and food trends.
4. Sound kitchen management skills including rotas, budgets, costings, and menu planning.
