Head Chef – South Coast (Relocation Opportunity) £75,000 - £80,000 per annum 9.5-month contract (paid over 12 months) Smyth & Co are delighted to be recruiting for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a renowned venue on the stunning South Coast. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate chef with a strong background in seafood to take charge of menu development, oversee a large team, and deliver an outstanding dining experience in a thriving coastal setting. The Role: Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum (inclusive of base salary guaranteed tronc, negotiable based on experience) Contract: 9.5 months of work (February to December) with 12 months’ pay Leave: 2.5 months off over Christmas (no work required during this time) Accommodation: First 3 months provided to assist with relocation Daily Covers: March to June: 250 per day June to September: 500-600 per day (working 7 days a week during peak season) Shift Patterns: Peak periods: Expect 4-5 double shifts per week, with 2-3 days off Off-season: Enjoy 2.5 months of paid downtime over Christmas, offering excellent work-life balance What You’ll Do: Report directly to the Executive Chef Oversee a large team of 40-50, including 2-3 Sous Chefs and 10 Prep Chefs Lead seafood menu development and bring your creativity to a prestigious coastal venue Maintain exceptional standards during high-volume periods while ensuring a smooth kitchen operation Requirements: Extensive experience in seafood cuisine is essential Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large, fast-paced kitchen Willingness to relocate to the South coast for the duration of the contract This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a talented team, work with the freshest local ingredients, and enjoy the benefits of a fantastic salary, work-life balance, and a coastal lifestyle.
