About the Role
Our client, a successful and well-regarded academy based in Hornchurch, is seeking a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join their Performing Arts department on a maternity cover basis starting from May half term. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering dynamic and engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will be working within a supportive department that values artistic expression, student voice, and inclusive performance opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who thrives on inspiring young people and bringing creativity into the classroom. Both ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
Role Details
* Deliver high-quality Drama lessons in line with national curriculum expectations
* Plan, prepare, and assess students’ performance work and written tasks
* Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities, including school productions
* Maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all learners
* Support the department during the maternity leave of a permanent staff member

Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performing Arts
* Strong classroom presence and creative teaching approach
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A passion for the performing arts and student development
